Finishing Production, Week 8, Project task

Hello, welcome back!

This week for our Project, we will be mainly putting all our ideas in order and seeing what information we gathered and what we will talk about during the video.

By now we have the script, and we will start shooting once everyone in the group can meet up, if they can't for any reason, I will ask them for a team meeting online after college, to see where everyone is with their project work. If they are happy with the script, I would like to start recording the audio and record using video to see how the video edits and uploads, and how we're going to back up our work.

I have started on the caricature for the animation, which will be used for the introduction for the video, and I have also made some graphics that will play as a slideshow as part of the Online Shaming and Cancel Culture video. After that, I will have images of well-known celebrities that have been cancelled recently with a voice-over talking about each cancellation. I'm looking forward to contributing to doing the animation, graphics and editing for the video while showing others in my group what I know with adobe and other software.

I have been researching a lot to learn some more about adobe fresco and illustrator. Here are some of the videos on editing I have watched.

Studio Binder has some great information on postproduction, they have a list to help you know what to do on the postproduction website called Studiobinder.com - what Postproduction is.

It is important to have reliable storage, picture editing, sound editing, secure music, sound mixing, visual effects, colour correction, titles graphics and credits, gather distribution materials and make a trailer.

How she talks about video production and marketing and also gives helpful information on selecting clips and organising them into the correct order. To add sound and visual effects add on-screen text and colour correct.

They say how visual effects should be the first to edit once they know what scenes will be used.

How to Make and Edit videos in Canva

This was very helpful as it explains how to use Canva and what visual effects you can create.

9 cuts every video editor should know

There are some useful edits I took from this video was the standard shot the end of one shot and the start of a new one.

  • Cut scene – audio onto your next clip
  • L-cut – audio takes you into the next scene
  • Cut-away- showing where you are in the world, focusing on the landscape shot.
  • Match cuts – matching character actions from here to there.

8 steps to edit a video in Premiere Pro (start to finish)

I learned that frame weight should usually be around 23.978 to start with.

This clip is very handy to have to learn how to edit on premiere pro.

Aftereffects basics- This video was helpful to learn how to add text on video and how to animate the text.

Three simple Titles in Aftereffects - This video is useful to show how you can make different changes to your titles and credits on your video.

Using Adobe Audition to master your audio under 5 minutes - This video shows how to create special effects, how to make room for vocals, capture noise prints by going to effects and then to the noise reduction process.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog about how the end of production is going for our group.

Production Process, Week 5, Video task

My thoughts on production process... To me design thinking is a philosophy and a set of tools to help you solve problems creatively. It is also a production process that helps you to organise effectively. It can be loosely divided into three stages these are Pre-production, Production and Post-production. I think it is important to be aware and learn about design thinking and various stages associated with design thinking. In the YouTube video by Aj & Smart by Johnathan Courtney CEO at AJ & Smart he shared that if you’re going to working with anything got to do with design thinking, is innovation taking the philosophy of design thinking and learning using something like the design sprint. As a recipe to run design thinking. I think digital media products that could apply design thinking to would be, films, documentaries, podcasts, vlogs.   Aj & Smart by Johnathan What takes place in the three stages of Production is first Pre-production, This is where ...

Another Revision, Week 9, Reading Task

pixabay photo Hi welcome back to my blog, The blogs I reviewed were  Ryan's Blog  for the week 3 reading task and  Milo's Blog  for the week 6 video task. I think they both did a great job on their blogs, I could just give them suggestions to add the source from where they got their opinion.  I learned from the comments on my blog that I have to start implying my experiences and feelings on the subject from Finn and that I should also add a conclusion paragraph to wrap it all up from Chloe. I also learned from Adam that he liked how I sourced the information on my blog and the way I lay it out. When I did the revise on my blog I implied the feedback which helped me a lot to know what I should be doing. Finn also gave me two good questions to help me make my blog clearer. They were “what’s the difference between Ethics and Morals” so I changed the paragraph to make it clearer on my revised blog. He also asked me “if I had any other examples of dark patterns ...

Reading Task, Week 10

free pixabay photo Hi welcome back to my blog. Today I will talk about how the peer review and the rewriting experience has gone over the semester. I have learned from the peer review task that I should add a bibliography at the end of every blog and add in text citations. I also need to start talking about the experience I have on the topic and how I feel about the topic which I have started to do in my recent blogs and plan to change on my previous blogs. I feel that my writing and reading skills have improved since my first feedback and even more since I got more feedback from other peers. I have received some great feedback overall to help me improve my blogs and know where I can make content easier and more enjoyable to read. Concise writing goal is to use the most effective words. To use the stronger words not always fewer. To get to the main point of the topic. (Arts, 2021) Too wordy sentences such as “It is the governor who signs or vetoes bills. – 9 words. Concise sent...
